Competition Rules
The 6th Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival.   In 2021
Founded in 2016, the Golden Tree International Documentary Festival is held every autumn. It aims to attract global awareness; encourage the exhibition of films located in a certain place, a certain period of history and a certain culture from one continent to another; explore the cultural sources of different civilizations in the world; promote exchanges and mutual learning; and build a platform for documentary exchanges between the East and the West.
With the theme of "Roots of Culture: Nature Tells Us", the 6th Golden Tree International Documentary Festival focuses on the living homeland and unknown areas of human beings, including the world of animals and plants, human history, natural environment, etc. The Golden Tree International Documentary Festival encourages the participation of filmmakers with culturally unique perspectives whose documentaries expound a sense of profound significance to participant. There is no charge for registration, and you will be offered two free passes to participate in all the activities of the 6th Golden Tree Festival.

Film length definition:
Documentary Feature: Longer than 60 minutes;
Documentary Medium-Length: 20-60 minutes (including 60 minutes);
Documentary Short: 20 minutes or less (including 20 minutes);

Best Medium-Length Documentary, Prize: 2500 EUR
Best Short Documentary, Prize: 1500 EUR
Best Life of Nature Documentary, Prize: 2500 EUR

Best Human Discovery Documentary, Prize: 2500 EUR
Best Cinematography, Prize: 2500 EUR
Best Proposal, Prize: 1500 EUR
3.    Registration Methods

¨     Applicants shall ensure the authenticity, completeness, and accuracy of the  registration information, and bear the legal liability arising from false information. Application materials will not be returned and will be retained by the organizing committee for archival purposes.
¨     The applicant (individual or institution) who registered the film must have full copyright or licensing rights of the film. Moreover, the applicant shall guarantee that the film is not involved in any kind of copyright dispute.  In the event of any disputes regarding the film's copyright, the applicant will bear full responsibility. 
¨     Applicants that register for the 6th GTIDFF 2021 agree to accept the aforementioned terms and rules as well as allow us to use your email address for contact purposes.

4.    Selection and terms
¨     If your movie is selected to be shown in the festival, you must provide a high-definition version in MP4 or DCP format file. The Organizing Committee of the Golden Tree International Documentary Festival does not pay any screening fees, freight, travel or entertainment expenses.
¨     If you are a sales agent and are interested in submitting documentary projects to us, please contact us directly at (PLEASE SUPPLY A CONTACT PERSON. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING INFO@GOLDENTREE... IN THIS CASE.
¨     The organizing committee has the right to use the application materials, including posters, stills and trailers, in the printed matter, cinemas, TV stations, Internet, mobile TV and other public places related to the Golden Tree Festival.
¨     In case of any change in these rules, the date of revision will be announced on the official website. If the participants do not accept the revised terms, they have the right to withdraw from the event.
